Daily Mantra: GO PLAY. Isn’t that what our parents are always yelling?

What do you think about when you are creating?

When I’m creating, I like to find the sweet spot where there is no sense of time and you can lose yourself in what you’re creating. It’s not about thinking, it’s more about a great sense of flow. Getting lost in ideas, for me, is a perfect romance.

What’s the best creative experience you’ve had?

Traveling the world with Cyndi Lauper in the 90s was such a gift. I was doing her makeup, and collectively we had many incredible experiences. At that age, what I really wanted to do was to travel. The Universe answered my prayers.

What title would you give to the story of your life?

‘Chaos Theory’ by Jody MORLOCK. I seem to thrive in chaos and am forever trying to create Order. Maybe in my next life I’ll get it right.

Favorite Inspiration?

My favorite inspiration in life, believe it or not, is humor. My best work usually has a dirty joke somewhere hidden beneath the paint or on display for someone to find it. But sometimes fifty jokes just sit in my thoughts where I can entertain myself and have a good laugh. Humor is the best weapon.

Favorite dinner guest?

The women. Louise Bourgeois, Lee Bontecou Louise Nevelson, Amy Stillman and Niki de Saint Phalle The men? Marcel Duchamp, Joseph Beuys, George Condo, Jon Stewart - LOL - and the Pig, Picasso.
